What is this mod?

This client-side Fabric mod links game chat to a local Ollama instance. You can list installed models, select one, and address the assistant with an ai prefix.

In short: A convenient sandbox for local models without paid API access, but it has no world actions or NPC memory.

What you need

  • Minecraft 1.20.1
  • Fabric
  • Ollama running locally
  • A compatible model already downloaded

Installation

  1. Install the correct Fabric version for Minecraft 1.20.1.
  2. Choose a file for your exact game version on the official project page.
  3. Move the .jar file into .minecraft/mods.
  4. Add every dependency listed by the author, then launch a separate test profile.
  5. Configure a local model or your own API key. Never share the key.

Important limitations

  • It is a chat tool rather than a game agent
  • The project has not been updated recently
  • Quality and speed depend entirely on the local model
